About Bully's

This traditional French restaurant with a quirky Welsh twist is one of Cardiff’s best-loved local gems. Bully’s has been around for over 16 years and has transformed into a Cardiff institution whilst maintaining its neighborhood, family-run charm. Well known for its gourmet food and wine nights and charismatic shabby-chic interior, Bully’s is always popular with a well-heeled crowd and favourites from the Gallic kitchen include the pan-fried foie gras; the aged fillet of Welsh black beef; and the Bully’s signature vanilla bean crème brûlée.

Bully's in Canton, Cardiff was an excellent birthday treat and I will definately be going back for the best food I have yet had in Cardiff. Very friendly, very well informed, excellent food. A small menu that changes daily I imagine, which is just what I want.

Absolutely fantastic - we had the fillet steak, which was delicious. Great food, great wine, great service (big bill!) - for me it's the best restaurant in Cardiff

We had a thoroughly enjoyable meal a Bullys in Cardiff on Saturday April 21st. Thank you Russell. Excellent food, ambience and hospitality, as usual.

Staff here really care about their customers. Food is first class, service impeccable. Wine list has reasonably priced 375ml carafes and an excellent selection of other drinks most notably dessert wines. the proprietor provides sound advice on matching wines.

This was a reservation for 8 people. After Wales' 11th Grand Slam, the party had grown to 11, symbolically one guest per Slam. The restaurant handled this seamlessly. Great hospitality. Great food.

We've been to Bully's before and it's one of the few good restaurants Cardiff. It is small so it's fairly cosy but pleasant. The menu is short but would appeal to anyone. For desert, we shared a tarte tatin with peardrop ice cream. It's not really good to share as it is so delicious, even if you're absolutely full you'll still want one all to yourself.

Bully's is a small and slightly eccentric restaurant in Cardiff, the welcome and general friendliness of staff and owner cannot br faulted. Food was generally excellent, very tasty good sized portions , we will definitely be back

We went to Bully's in Cardiff for Sunday lunch and would definitely recommend it. The food was lovely (we had the roast pork), the service was excellent and the atmosphere was just right. Dont be put off by the slightly out of town location- it's well worth a visit.

The food as usual was awesome but I felt stiffed by the bill - they charged for water and even though we took the option of paying £40 extra per head to get the matched wines they charged for refills of glasses without mentioning that it would cost extra and when they were charging £9 for a glass it really annoyed me!

I would go again but knowing now how much they charge for drinks I'll stick to just one of their £3.50 per 500ml bottle of water between two of us.

Lovely friendly atmosphere, immediatetly felt at home. The proprietor Russell is so obviously knowledgable and enthusiastic about his food it made me want to devour the whole menu! and what I did choose was certainly not disappointing. If you like good food and want to taste the difference in genuine Welsh Lamb and Welsh Black Beef look no further

We celebrated my 64th(!!) birthday at Bully`s in Cardiff this week. We went for Sunday lunch. It was our first visit and we were very impressed. The food was delicious. The atmosphere was great. The service was first class and the background music (jazz) was just right for the occasion. We will certainly return.

This was our first visit to Bully's, in Cardiff, and it won't be the last. Friends had recommended it, and so we wanted to give it a try. We wanted a special meal to mark my birthday, and we were not disapponted. The service was attentive, and efficient. Our meals were all well prepared and presented, and most enjoyable. The ambience was relaxed and friendly, no loud music! Nothing was too much trouble for the excellent waiters who worked there. Excellent.

Brilliant restaurant, faultless service and great food. This was my first visit but it won't be the last

Bully's in Cardiff was a great choice for Sunday lunch. There was a good atmosphere as well as good food and I will be going back.

I went to Bully's in Cardiff on 8th Sept 2011 - food, wine and atmosphere were all good, and the staff were friendly. I had the Welsh black beef fillet (arrived medium/medium-well rather than medium rare as requested - but forgiven as it was very tasty!) and coffee panna cotta with cherries and kirsch sauce (very nice).

Having been to a number of other restaurants in the same price range in Cardiff over the last few weeks, this is definitely at the top of my list for the time being.

We visited Bully's in Cardiff on Sunday. The menu was imaginative & the food delicious & well presented. The service attentive without being intrusive.

Sunday lunch. Good free range pork and 'different' and delicious marlin. With the roast, great selection of perfectly-cooked vegetables. Soup a bit thin. Brisk service.

Enjoyed our meal at Bully's although we were somewhat overwhelmed by a very loudly laughing table of 8 right next to us. Would have been better to set the large table at the end where they would have been less intrusive to our table of two - at times hard to hear each other over the din. The Welsh black beef was pure heaven, highly recommended. Surprised to only have choice of white bread, albeit homemade. Overall a good place to eat.

Fantastic, best restaurant in Cardiff by a country mile!

Even arriving late was no problem. Excellent service and food. Will go again when in Cardiff
