Opus Restaurant in Birmingham

Food is great but would be nice to have slightly larger portions

Good food and service. Not bad value for money.

Yes I did dine there and the menu was very good and excellent value

Opus Birmingham went on a friday lunchtime, had the prix fixe menu choice of only 2 dishes for each course, but the ones I had were good started with the warm oysters, which were excellent black bream was good my choice of cheesecake was disappointing the house red which included in the price of £24, without service, was very nice

Another great visit.

Absolutely stunning food, great value for the market menu we thoroughly enjoyed the whole meal including the wine and coffee. Staff were extremely attentive!!! Only grumble would be it was quite empty at 6.30 when we arrived and it was a bit off putting having 3 servers and the maitre de all watching your every move standing opposite your table. It was better once more tables had arrived around 7.30ish.

Market menu at 24.50 plus service charge is great value. Great food and excellent service. Will definitelt do aagain soon.

Excellent - really enjoyed the meal, the service and the quiet, relaxed ambiance of the place. We all (three of us) had different things and we were delighted with our choices on all three courses, even the inclusive glass of wine was a good one.

Opus, Birmingham. 8 of us on a Saturday night. During the week Opus can be a bit quiet but it was nicely busy without any reduction in the usual high level of service. The mains were a little bit longer coming than expected but food and wine were marvellous.

We had a Saturday night dinner at Opus in Birmingham. I had read mixed reviews regarding service. Restaurant was fairly quiet on arrival at 7pm, but got busier. Service was fairly slow paced, but that suited us perfectly and the young waiting staff were kept well organised by a senior maitre de. I had ham terrine, hake and orchard crumble. All the food was lovely, decent size portions (we added a side) and the glass of house red was perfectly fine. A pot of coffee finished it off perfectly.

My wife and I visited Opus Restaurant on a friday evening for the Market menu three course deal. The restaurant we thought was quite quiet, but the food and the value of the meal were excellent. The service was superb throughout which made for a wonderfully relaxed eveing in a much improved restaurant which deserves credit for its ethos and menu's. Well worth a visit.

3 rd visit in 2012 and everything was as to be expected, the market menu was super value and as always interesting, will return soon.

We chose from the seasonal set menu which was very good value for money, especially when compared to the main menu. For the set menu you only get a choice of two options for each course. However all of the choices looked really good and I still struggled to pick! I particularly enjoyed the rabbit and chicken starter which looked like something from Master Chef. The staff were very attentive and polite. I would definitely recommend it.

Lovely food at this restaurant and with the deal it's great value! Even the house wine was delicious. The only things that I would improve would be the lighting, it's way to bright in there and our waitress didn't really understand the questions we were asking and so was unable to help us. However other than that it was a lovely evening and the maitre d'e was excellent. Very helpful and friendly.

The restaurant was pretty quiet for a Friday evening. The service was excellent and the waiters were attentive. The food was above average but nothing to brag about.

Opus, Birmingham - classy

Visited Opus, Birmingham and had the Market Menu offer. 3 courses, glass of wine & coffee. Excellent food and very good value. Offer meant we dined early (6.30pm) so quiet at first but filled up later on. Lighting is a bit bright but that's the only quibble. I think this is one of the top 5 restaurants in Birmingham.

Very good service. Food of a very high standard. Atmosphere is relxed yet professional. Would definitely visit again.

Opus, Birmingham - one of the best places dined at to date. superb menu choice with food simply mouth watering. attention to detail from the chef to the waiters with excellent and friendly service

The market menu at Opus restaurant is very good value for money. Although the choice is limited to two dishes per course, our party of three had no difficulty in finding something we liked. For an early evening meal in central Birmingham, Opus would be very hard to beat.
