I went to the Crooked Well with my neice - who is vegetarian, and was very happy with the fish and veggie options. We both had fish - and it was delicious, fresh and tasty and interestingly presented. The Banana tarte tatin with ginger ice cream was perfect to share and yummy, and the service, as every was friendly and efficient, despite the fact they were unexpectedly busy with Tuesday night drop ins. Ideal for a multi generation meal!

The Crooked Well was a great choice for out of town visitors, who were surprised to find such good food and atmosphere is this corner of London.

The Crooked Well in London was an excellent venue with very high quality food if a little on the pricey side.

Have been to the Crooked Well more than 10 times now and it has become our "local". Delicious, creative, British (and some French) cooking in a beautifully designed "rustic" space with live jazz on Sundays. Great service but can be a little rushed so ask your server to give you time between courses. Also, try and book as it is always busy and rightfully so!

As Camberwell locals, we've been to the Crooked Well a few times, and have usually really enjoyed it, but this time it was the best meal I think I've had there. The calf's liver was melt in the mouth delicious, with lovely crispy polenta (and I don't usually like polenta). My starter and pud were equally great. And my friends thoroughly enjoyed their meals too. Would recommend.

Excellent meal at The Crooked Well, SE5. Highly recommended for food, ambience and service.

The perfect local gastropub - delicious food, generous portions, friendly service and pleasant atmosphere/decor. Jazz on Sunday evenings cranks up the decibel level.

First visit to the much hyped crooked well in camberwell - and it certainly lived up to the hype. Starters of crab salad and duck egg were fabulous, main courses of roast lamb, calves liver and sea trout were fantastic and then the baked Alaska pudding - out of this world! The bar was really buzzing too, finally giving camberwell a decent bar to get a (well made) cocktail. Will be back very soon!

First visit to the Crooked Well in Camberwell and we very pleased with the service, ambience and the food. All nicely presented and tasty, not rushed and polite service, we will be back :)

Lunch on Saturday at the Crooked Well was enjoyable: the staff are friendly, the menu is attractively varied

The Crooked Well, Camberwell. Excellent food and service. Quite a noisey place as long as you are prepared for this it won't spoil your evening. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. Will definately go back and will bring friends.

We enjoyed an excellent lunch on a cold January Saturday. Hector is a welcoming host with a good memory for faces. My belly of pork was exemplary, tender meat and a crisp shell of crackling. My husband enjoyed the classic cheeseburger and the hot chocolate pudding for two was a guilty pleasure. It is a friendly and comfortable place and the short wine list is well-chosen and not greedily-priced.

We really enjoyed our meal at the Crooked Well. Rabbit pie for two was delicious and it's a well run, relaxed venue.

We went to the The Crooked Well on a Friday night for dinner. I had a pork belly starter that was very disappointing. It consisted of cold sliced pork (sticks to the roof of your mouth), with cold pork scratchings on top. My husband had smoked salmon and pate, which he enjoyed. My main was very nice - bass with linguine and mussels. The atmosphere was nice. Nice buzz and ambience. Service was so so, with a massive wait between starter and main. I was tired so I found that really annoying.

Our evening at the Crooked Well in Camberwell was most enjoyable. Excellent food, service and ambience, look forward to returning soon.
