About The Drapers Arms

The Drapers Arms is a lovely 1830s pub in a residential area of Islington.

Very much a pub we are as welcoming to one person sitting with a beer and a paper as to a group having a special meal. In an informal and relaxing atmosphere we nonetheless take our food, drink and service seriously. Well chosen and carefully tended ales (Harveys Sussex, Sambrooks Wandle and Truman"s Runner) and wines (18 available by the glass) add to a range of authentic lagers, spirits and soft drinks.

Our food is all freshly prepared and our menu changes every day and across the seasons. With a focus on being enjoyable, honest and seasonal we are also affordable - we were very pleased in our first year to receive a 'Bib Gourmand' by Michelin for 'Good food at affordable prices'.

Our upstairs dining room can accommodate weddings, christenings and parties and is among the finest private hire options in London.

The Draper's Arms has a great atmosphere with a quality menu for relatively good value prices. An extensive well priced wine list with helpful unobtrusive service. Would definitely go again.

Enjoyed a great late-evening dinner at the Drapers Arms. As usual the staff were friendly, lively atmosphere, very good food, extensive wine list. The shepherd's pie was excellent. Definitely recommend.

A very nice meal and good service. However, there was a large group in the dining area and as it is a large open space with high ceilings, the noise from the group meant that my husband and I couldn't hear each other speak.

The food is always delicious here, although be prepared for a wait.

I have been to The Drapers Arms on several occasions and I have found the food to be hit and miss, but I like the venue and the staff a friendly and more often than not I do enjoy it.

We found the drapers arms in islington on a blog but were a little disappointed.

Our mussel and crayfish starters were good. my boyfriends rare rump steak came out cold with out the sauce. He did send it back and it was fairly swiftly replaced but there was no real apology or sincerity from the staff. My lamb breast dish was flavoursome but a bit Crispy and fatty. House red was lovely and cinnamon doughnuts. Overall didn't think our meal quite deserved the price tag nor the £10 servic

Really excellent quality food, good busy atmosphere!

very enjoyable - Drapers Arms, young crowd.

A really wonderful evening. Fine wine and delicious food - would definitely recommend the steak tartare! The portion sizes were big so our only issue was that of over ordering! The staff were very friendly and the prices were exceptionally reasonable considering how much food you got for your money! Will definitely be going back again soon.

The Drapers Arms, London continues (to my mind) to be a more funky and interesting alternative to the nearby Albion. The varied menu maintains the traditional "roast" elements one expects for a pub serving such a residential area, but there are enough interesting dishes to keep a foodie happy. The razor clams to start are were delicious. I had steak for the main, my partner the pork, and both were excellent.

We visited the Drapers Arms in Islington yesterday for lunch. Nice ambience - light and airy. Good service and best of all good food and wine. Will definitely return.

The Drapers Arms is a lovely gastro pub. It was quiet one weekday lunch but very pleasant decor and surroundings. The set menu is fantastic value and has reasonable choice. Starters and mains were delicious and there is a good choice of well-priced wines. Service was friendly and attentive. A lovely spot and will be back.

Drapers Arms, Islington - first class meal in a lovely pub. One of my favourites in the country

we visited before an evening Arsenal game and the pub was almost empty at 5.45 only to fill up at 6pm when the tables were booked from. Great quiet location, easy walk to the stadium and food was excellent. Steak tartare to start was particularly delicious.

had pies very nice ,a bit slow to arrive but nice

Drapers Arms - pretty good lunch at the Drapers with some friends. Had the duck rillettes which was tasty, perhaps a little oily. Had the puy lentils, roast veg and goats curd for main which was suprisingky tasty. Pretty good service as well - recommend for a group meal.

The Drapers Arms in Barnsbury has a lovely relaxed gastro pub feel to it. the menu is quite limited but the food was great and I really liked thast they gave you good bread and butter and a jug of tap water as standard. The Buttermilk and Rhubarb pudding was as good as all the reviews on here say!

The food here is lovely as always. On busy nights like Fridays it's really really noisy and some older members of our group found it difficult to hear. Every time we have been to The Drapers it has been really hot, however the waitress did open the door for us last night. I would say the service could use some improvement. We waited for long periods with no drinks and the food was very stilted in coming out- maybe thats because they were busy. So overall the food is definitely worth it- as long as your ok to deal with the other minor issues.

heard mixed reviews of the Drapers Arms but thought i would try it and it was great.

Menu could have offered more choice but was happy with what I chose. Service was friendly.

Went there with a group of friends, was a nice relaxed time - the staff were attentive and the food in general a good standard.
