Bully's in Canton, Cardiff was an excellent birthday treat and I will definately be going back for the best food I have yet had in Cardiff. Very friendly, very well informed, excellent food. A small menu that changes daily I imagine, which is just what I want.

Absolutely fantastic - we had the fillet steak, which was delicious. Great food, great wine, great service (big bill!) - for me it's the best restaurant in Cardiff

We had a thoroughly enjoyable meal a Bullys in Cardiff on Saturday April 21st. Thank you Russell. Excellent food, ambience and hospitality, as usual.

Staff here really care about their customers. Food is first class, service impeccable. Wine list has reasonably priced 375ml carafes and an excellent selection of other drinks most notably dessert wines. the proprietor provides sound advice on matching wines.

This was a reservation for 8 people. After Wales' 11th Grand Slam, the party had grown to 11, symbolically one guest per Slam. The restaurant handled this seamlessly. Great hospitality. Great food.

We've been to Bully's before and it's one of the few good restaurants Cardiff. It is small so it's fairly cosy but pleasant. The menu is short but would appeal to anyone. For desert, we shared a tarte tatin with peardrop ice cream. It's not really good to share as it is so delicious, even if you're absolutely full you'll still want one all to yourself.

Bully's is a small and slightly eccentric restaurant in Cardiff, the welcome and general friendliness of staff and owner cannot br faulted. Food was generally excellent, very tasty good sized portions , we will definitely be back

We went to Bully's in Cardiff for Sunday lunch and would definitely recommend it. The food was lovely (we had the roast pork), the service was excellent and the atmosphere was just right. Dont be put off by the slightly out of town location- it's well worth a visit.

The food as usual was awesome but I felt stiffed by the bill - they charged for water and even though we took the option of paying £40 extra per head to get the matched wines they charged for refills of glasses without mentioning that it would cost extra and when they were charging £9 for a glass it really annoyed me!

I would go again but knowing now how much they charge for drinks I'll stick to just one of their £3.50 per 500ml bottle of water between two of us.

Lovely friendly atmosphere, immediatetly felt at home. The proprietor Russell is so obviously knowledgable and enthusiastic about his food it made me want to devour the whole menu! and what I did choose was certainly not disappointing. If you like good food and want to taste the difference in genuine Welsh Lamb and Welsh Black Beef look no further

We celebrated my 64th(!!) birthday at Bully`s in Cardiff this week. We went for Sunday lunch. It was our first visit and we were very impressed. The food was delicious. The atmosphere was great. The service was first class and the background music (jazz) was just right for the occasion. We will certainly return.

This was our first visit to Bully's, in Cardiff, and it won't be the last. Friends had recommended it, and so we wanted to give it a try. We wanted a special meal to mark my birthday, and we were not disapponted. The service was attentive, and efficient. Our meals were all well prepared and presented, and most enjoyable. The ambience was relaxed and friendly, no loud music! Nothing was too much trouble for the excellent waiters who worked there. Excellent.

Brilliant restaurant, faultless service and great food. This was my first visit but it won't be the last

Bully's in Cardiff was a great choice for Sunday lunch. There was a good atmosphere as well as good food and I will be going back.

I went to Bully's in Cardiff on 8th Sept 2011 - food, wine and atmosphere were all good, and the staff were friendly. I had the Welsh black beef fillet (arrived medium/medium-well rather than medium rare as requested - but forgiven as it was very tasty!) and coffee panna cotta with cherries and kirsch sauce (very nice).

Having been to a number of other restaurants in the same price range in Cardiff over the last few weeks, this is definitely at the top of my list for the time being.

We visited Bully's in Cardiff on Sunday. The menu was imaginative & the food delicious & well presented. The service attentive without being intrusive.

Sunday lunch. Good free range pork and 'different' and delicious marlin. With the roast, great selection of perfectly-cooked vegetables. Soup a bit thin. Brisk service.

Enjoyed our meal at Bully's although we were somewhat overwhelmed by a very loudly laughing table of 8 right next to us. Would have been better to set the large table at the end where they would have been less intrusive to our table of two - at times hard to hear each other over the din. The Welsh black beef was pure heaven, highly recommended. Surprised to only have choice of white bread, albeit homemade. Overall a good place to eat.

Fantastic, best restaurant in Cardiff by a country mile!

Even arriving late was no problem. Excellent service and food. Will go again when in Cardiff

Really lovely food and the service was faultless. The nicest meal Ive had in Cardiff for some time.

Just been to Bully's in Pontcanna, Cardiff for lunch (wife's birthday). Real quality food at a decent price in good surroundings. Definately worth a visit if you haven't been already. Like me, sure you'll go back again.

We had a lovely meal. Food was excellent and the wines were perfect. The only criticism would be we didn't get enough cheese for the price although the range was stunning. We would definitely go again.

We enjoyed our visit to Bully's in Cardiff: great wine, lovely staff (thanks for talking us through the menu), great setting.. But.. food was a touch average. I'm sorry to say, as we did have a nice time but, for the money we paid, we felt a bit let down!

Simple--- Great service and food.

BULLYS - PONTCANNA,CARDIFF Great food and service with a warm welcome. What more do you need. Very nice evening and look forward to next time

What a find - we enjoyed a fantastic meal from start to finish. Enthusiastic host, lovely service and food to die for. An eclectic decor added to the feeling of being 'at home'. In our top ten!

Lunch at Bully's in Cardiff was perfect! Interesting decor, top-notch service, divine food, Jacques Brel in the background. Foie gras, halibut, Welsh beef - excellent fare and well-matched wines. The place is a bit off-centre and the soffit ceiling somewhat naff, but we are sure to visit again and again!

Totally perfect

Bully's Cardiff. I can't say enough good things about this place. There was an error in bookings and we were a day early. Despite being completely full, we were still seated with some rearrangement. Bully's could not have been more helpful. The owner described each dish and its provenance in detail, and none of it failed to live up to expectations. The wine was exactly the same. Wonderful food, really friendly and helpful staff, and owner. We will definitely be going back.

The three of us had a delicious meal at Bully's in Romilly Crescent, Cardiff last night. Thank you very much again Russell.

A very good start with the complimentary tomato soup starter with homemade bun. The Welsh beef was nicely cooked with a tasty sauce. I especially liked the dauphinoise potato. A very nice atmosphere and superb service from the waiters.

What a treat to find such a great restaurant in Cardiff! Bully's didn't disappoint. We were served by the most enthusiastic and knowledgeable gentleman who clearly has a passion for good food and wine. Both my mother and I had the beef with dauphinoise potatoes- cooked to perfection and incredibly creamy and garlicky pots. The tarte tatin with liquorice and fennel ice cream was also superb. We ordered from the a la carte menu but the lunch set menu looked very interesting too.

Excellent service and value

Love Bully's - loved it when it was in Llandaff, and somehow this is the first time that we've managed to get down to their new Pontcanna setting, but love that too. Glad to see that's nothing's changed, fabulous food, briliant wine, and great service as always. Along with Le Gallois and Patagonia (and they're all pretty much neighbours now) Bully's is a real Cardiff legend and never disappoints.

I have always wanted to go to Bully's in Cardiff and I was very pleased with the food and the service. Very nice atmosphere and thoughtful chef! I will come back.

Bully's in Cardiff is an excellent little restaurant. The owner is extremely welcoming - positively effusive! - and the service is efficient and friendly. The menu offers a somewhat limited but imaginative range of options. Our choices were very well cooked and presented. There is a well-chosen wine list but we went with one of the owner's recommendations which was very good value.

The food and wine chosen for their new years eve menu was great. The reception we received was very friendly. I feel the wait for the first part of the menu (30 mins) and the wait for the bill (25 mins) was too large, but I'd definitely go again.

Bullys Cardiff is one place I wish was just around my corner. It was not cheap, just under £200 for the four of us, but we did have bubbles and we had the most delicious food. ( balked a bit at the 10% service charge which was already aded to the bill, £17, we would have tipped, but dislike this fashion for assuming we will) anyway, that aside, the evening was perfect, the atmosphere friendly and warm as was the service. The menu changes regularly but we all had different meals and loved them.

Lively atmosphere though the cliente seems to be quite old. The crust on the creme brulee was way too thick and overdone and there was no pistachios to be seen.

Bully's restaurant in Cardiff ensured we had an amazing time throughout the whole evening, from recommending wines, a friendly welcome, excellent food and a great atmosphere. Would highly recommend.

Dinner with wife and 2 friends on a saturday night. Great food and atmosphere as usual. Would recommend.

Bullys Restaurant - Cardiff

The meal and service lived up to expectations, really tasty and great value for money.

After my recent first visit, I took a companion to Bully's Cardiff and it once again came up to expectations. This time Russell, the owner, was there to add his personal touches. We had the 2 course express menu with a nice bottle of wine and were too full to enjoy desert. I shall continue to visit this lovely restaurant from time to time.

It was our first visit to Bully's but certainly won't be our last. Very good food and wine, efficient service and a lovely ambience added up to a very pleasant evening. We have already recommended it to friends.

I can't recommend Bully's in Cardiff more. As soon as we entered the beautifully decorated restaurant it was clear that the owners want to ensure the best possible dining experience for guests. The Maitre d' was extremely knowledgeable & passionate about food & drink, it was encourgaging to be greeted & served by somebody who was clearly so excited by the menu. The food was exceptional and the cheese board featured local Welsh & French varieties. The set menu also offered good value for money.

Bully's in Cardiff was small, intimate and just what we were looking for. The food was great, as was the service and the value for money. Also the place mats are very cool. I would definitely recommend this place.
