The Place Apartment Hotel in Manchester was simply superb. I have never given a review before where everything was 10 out of 10, but it was. 3 courses of the most fantastic food for 12.95 in a fantastic place. You just have to go there

The Place Hotel,Manchester was very good, the food was excellent and good value.

Place Restaurant was good - a bit empty - we were the only diners. Standard hotel fare, and v close to piccadilly station

Excellent choice! Super service, highly recommended!!

Due to a function, our reservation was moved from the restaurant to an atrium area which was pleasant, if a little cool.

The set menu had enough options but was overpriced compared to similar menus at other city centre restaurants. We had a Top Table discount that made this better.

The food was alright but not amazing.

Place restaurant Manchester. Booked the two courses for a tenner abd this was exvellent value. Good food and big portions made this excellent value for the money. Would definitely recommend.

I very much enjoyed my meal at The Place in Manchester. Although we had to eat our meal in the bar area rather than the restaurant (as the latter had been closed off for the evening), the atmosphere was very pleasant. The set menu was pleasantly varied and excellent value for money, whilst the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Overall, a very good experience.

My mum and I went to the Place before we went to a concert at the Apollo. The restaurant was very quiet, we were the only peoople in for half an hour but very nice design and the hotel looks lovely. Food was nice, limited on choice but the food was tasty and well presented. Would recommend!

Service was good, furnishings and surroundings were nice, was very cold though, shame there wasn't any others people in having a meal so no real atmosphere.. food was good, apart from one meal was delayed.

The restaurant was closed for a wedding, and so we were placed in the "garden", which was actually pretty pleasant! Service could not be faulted, we were also one of the only ones there, and with 2 for 1 it's good value! Food could have been fresher perhaps.

We had a very pleasant lunch at the Place. The restaurant itself was rather dark for a sunny day, but there are a couple of tables in the atrium area. Staff were attentive and friendly.

The Place Restaurant in Manchester should be avoided. The decor takes the worst of the 1960's and 1970's into one place. I ordered the salmon and my partner ordered the lamb. When the food did come out, the lamb was tough and the vegetables were cold. With the salmon came prawns, which had not been peeled properly. The sauce had so much oil I considered ringing BP and telling them they had another oil slick!

Very disappointing.

It was a beautiful place. the food was delicious and the service was very pleasant indeed. Would definitely recommend. We had a home made vegetable soup for starter a very sumptious plaice crumble which the freshest of vegetables, nicely cooked al dente.

Excellent service, lovely venue and good food. Would recommend to anyone wanting a realxed lunch at a reasonable price.

The Place near Manchester Piccadilly - it was the second time that we had visited in less than a week and I would still recommend it as it has good food, with good size portions for not very much money. We had the early bird lunch menu - 2 courses for £10. Admittedly there are only 3 choices per course but this was not a problem. Food is well presented and the service is good.

The Place, Manchester - Very convenient for Manchester Picadilly train station. Good food although the £10 menu is a little limited. Very big portion though! Had to sit in the bar as there was a function in the restaurant but not a problem. Would definitely come again.

We had the early doors menu - 2 courses for £10. The ham terrine and the tuna nicoise were very good and the calves livers was highly rated too. There was only myself and my husband in there so obviously a little quiet! Staff very attentive but not overly so. Liked the fact that they provided a jug of water rather than offering bottled water.

The Place, Piccadilly Manchester - 16th July 2011

I booked this restaurant as it is really close to the station. My friend and I were in Manchester for the day on a theatre trip.

The Place is a wonderful combination of old and new great renovation! The Service was excellent and the staff very friendly and helpful.

We ordered from the Light bites two courses for £10 and were pleasantly surprised at the quality and presentation of the food. Definately one to try.

As others have mentioned, this restaurant is inside a hotel. We were situated in the bar area as there was a function in the main room. This was fine but depends what sort of atmosphere you want. The food was ok and reasonable for the price, however the menu was limited and was a bit disappointed that 2 of the 3 main course options were salads which left only one hot option.

We went to The Place Restaurant in Manchester for Saturday lunch. We planned to get the 2 courses for £10 deal but it was a really limited menu that was unsuitable for the summer weather. The food we ordered was average but good sized portions. There was a wedding on that day, which we were told when we booked. We were assured that it would not affect our dining experience, unfortunately it did. Dirty tables and waited a long time for food then wrong food arrived. A disappointing lunch

It's difficult to say that two courses for £10 isn't good value, especially since the food wasn't bad. However, the ambience of this restaurant is kind of lacking- it is a hotel restaurant (which was mostly empty) and we were pretty aware that we were the only people visiting just to eat, rather than as hotel guests. The service was friendly, and staff were attentive, but it was a bit amateurish!

We booked lunch at The Place in Manchester and were later called and told the restaurant had been booked out for an event, so we would have to eat in the bar. Despite being next to the hotel reception it was nicely decorated - however the solitary barman was quite rushed by having to serve everyone. Food was enjoyable, although the set menu was restricted, and the raspberry cheesecake was heavenly. Overall it was satisfying but I suspect would be much better when seated in the restaurant.

An enjoyable night

The Place Restaurant - Manchester

Great value deal with the 2 courses for £10....good quality food and particularly impressed with the cheese board, which I have paid about £8 for standalone at other restaurants. The Garden area is really relaxing and has a similar ambience to being on holiday.

The staff are very keen and friendly, although perhaps a little inexperienced. Only disappointment was bring charged for an extra bottle of wine that we had already paid for with no apology.

The place Restaurant in Manchester was nearly empty and there was no real atmosphere. It is in a striking old warehouse which is being developed. The staff were really polite and helpful. The food was good but unremarkable. The reason we chose toe eat here is that it is a 2 minute walk from Piccadilly station.

We went to The Place Restaurant in Manchester recently for dinner. The venue was really nice as was the food. I would recommend this place.

The bistro at the Place Manchester had been taken over by a hen party and were shunted by reception into the bar to eat. We were first of all told we couldnt eat because of the function. We replied we had a booking. The staff were totally ill-equipped to cope with the situation. We were even asked if we wanted pepper and salt on the table. It took 40 minutes for the main course to arrive. After waiting 20 minutes for the dessert we declined dessert and asked for the bill. A complete disaster !!

The Place Manchester we had a very good meal and the service was very good, staff left us to our own devices unless we needed them. The only thing I would say let this Place down were the holes in the seating and the lack of atmosphere as we were the only 2 people in the restaurant.

We went to Place, Manchester for the first time yesterday - It was a monday and we didn't know what to expect. The restaurant was very quiet - infact, for most of the meal we were the only customers there and it felt like we were VIP's who had booked the whole place to ourselves! The staff were really polite, the food was delicious, and decor contemporary. Despite it being a bit cold (we were right under an AC), we have little to complain about. Thanks Place, for a great meal.

5adults 2under 12s we booked the 2 for £10 offer as too many of us for the £19.99 mothers day offer, but when we got there they let us pick. restaurant now busy, now and again we heard a bit of music. food nice but not to everyones taste. could have had a childs option really. we had to remind the waitress about accompniments like crostini with the starter, no bread with the soup or shortbread with the fruit salad. still didnt receive the bread or shortbread.

Food was nice and the £10 fir 2 courses is good value but the service we received was slow and we had to keep asking for a number of things

The Place Restaurant, Manchester We had to eat in the bar because of a function. We didn't mind this, but it does feel a lot like you're eating in a hotel lobby and nothing like a restaurant. The service was excellent despite the fact that the waitress was running the bar, waiting on, answering the phone and training a new member of staff! The food was great, apart from the profiteroles which were frozen when they arrived and obviously microwaved when sent back.

The Place Ducie street Manchester we enjoyed the food bought 2 main courses got a complimentry bottle of wine . The waiter Georgio was very attentive, maybe a little over the top. We had a dessert and coffee. we were a bit dissapointed we were not in the main dining room because of a private function, however the garden room was very plesent.

The Place, Manchester.

I enjoyed my visit I would certainly go again. The Staff were very attentive & polite. The only 3 small things that I would say you could improve on would be that 1 when I asked the waiter what soup of the day was he had to go away and ask also when asked if it was clear or cream he didn't know what I ment. 2 that we ordered a coffee when we arrived and didn't have time to drink it before the main course came.3 only 2 of us in the restaurant.Staff should know.

Really helpful staff (at times, as it was quiet, maybe too attentive) food came quickly and was very nice - we ate from the 2 courses for £10 menu so was very surprised at the quality considernig the price. The restaurant although quiet was warm and nicely lit - no complaints!

We were staying in the Apartments at the Place and so it was really easy to pop down for food. The deal is available to everyone and the menu was limited and basic. The food was presented well and the service was attentive, although slow in places. All in all good for the money. Would definitely do again. We sat in

As there was a birthday party on in the main restruant we sat in the bar area but it was really comfortable and nice. The 2 waiters that served us were really friendly and accomodating. I have Chicken parfait to begin which was yummy and salmon for main which was really lovely too and for a tenner it was real value for money. Would go again.

The food was ok but my fish and my friend's scollops were overcooked and chewy. The waitering staff were friendly but not very attentive. Initially they gave us 2 different set meal menus, when we asked about the courses the waiter told us only one of the menus were valid. Rather than replace the wrong menu with a correct one he merely stood over us and watched us share a menu. Despite not asking for the bil and the restaurant being empty apart from one other table and us, They gave us the our bill on 3 separate occasions when we hadn't finished our meal and wanted to order drinks. The decor left much to be desired as there were exposed foil wrapped air vents on the the ceiling that would have benefitted from being covered up or cleaned. The toilets were clean but the sinks were too small which meant that when you washed your hands the water splashed everywhere.

We ate at the Place Restaurant on Friday 4 March. We had been shopping so we were looking forward to the meal. Manchester was really busy, the restaurant was not!!. We were the only people in for a while and then a mother and daughter came in. There was no atmosphere because the Place was empty. The food was OK, nothing to shout about, the wine had not been chilled prior to be being placed in an ice bucket.

Went to the Place restaurant in Manchester for the first time yesterday. I have to say i really enjoyed my experience. I was served by a friendly chef called Georgios who took extra care to ensure my meal was enjoyable. The two courses for a tenner was really good value and I'll definitely try to come to this restaurant when I'm in Manchester again.

Dining at The Place Apartment Hotel was a pleasant, if not absolutely exciting, experience. Food was well prepared and good value for money (except the fillet steak which was rather overpriced). The cheese platter was superb! Atmosphere is typical of a hotel restaurant - bring your own, it's too quiet otherwise!

I thought the set menu for £10 was good value for money, especially on a Saturday Evening. The food was well cooked and okay to eat, but wasn't anything special. Furthermore I found the service in the restaurant was very good. I would recommend this restaurant to a group party that is looking for value for money, but I wouldn't suggest you'll go to this place for any special occasion.

The Place Restaurant in Manchester. Smart setting very spacious. Enjoyed the food and the staff were very attentive. Not far from Piccadilly Station either.

The Place Apartment Hotel, Ducie Street, Piccadilly, Manchester, M1 2TP nice food but a little quiet but it was early.
